Our trapping method is our GO TO METHOD. Our services include 3 visits. On our initial visit we will set traps out in strategic areas. Mainly focusing on the newest activity. Traps are set underground into the Gopher tunnel systems. On our second visit we will check the traps and remove the Gophers. Even though Gopher Wars limits the use of Strychnine we find it is needed in some situations. Gopher baiting consists of three visits. On our initial visit we will introduce Gopher bait into the Gophers tunnel system. This is done by using a probing device that drops a small amount of bait into the tunnel. Second and third visits will be treat as needed. We can only use bait if we see new activity. This treatment also comes with a 15-day warranty after the third visit. With Gopher baiting we must be sure that your pets will be safe during the process. This will be for us to determine.
Because we know how Gopher's work in some cases you may need an ongoing monthly service to continue to control your situation. Depending on the amount of activity, size of property, surrounding areas or how long you let it go we can't guarantee new Gophers will reuse the existing tunnel systems on your property. Gophers are small, burrowing animals about five to seven inches long with an average weight of 8 ounces. Powerfully built in the forequarters, their front feet have long, sharp claws. Gophers have brownish soft fur, large cheek pouches and flattened heads with small ears and eyes. Their hairy tails are about four inches long, and are used to navigate through tunnels when moving backwards.
A good way to determine if a Gopher is present is by mounds of dirt on the surface of the ground. These mounds are created as a Gopher tunnels through the soil with it's powerful front legs in search of food. As it bulldozes ahead, the Gopher pushes the loose earth to the surface and out of the tunnel, creating a fan-shaped mound. Gophers are capable of creating several mounds per day, especially when the soil is moist and easy to dig through.
While Gopher tunnels tend to be much less extensive than mole tunnels, Gopher tunnels are typically larger in diameter and tend to be deeper. And, unlike mole tunnels, Gopher tunnels are generally not visible above ground due to their deeper location.
